The proposed site is 30-year leasehold land and the land lease will expire 22th June 2025. The existing development consists of a four-storey commercial building with one basement car park. 1st storey is used for F&B; 2nd to 4th storey are offices.

Preserving Legacy thru Architecture

The developer would like to support URA’s master planning of the area by offering to change the building to an alternative use, such as a hotel or any other use preferred by URA for extension of land lease for another 30 years. To better benefit the public, the developer would like to offer his contribution to redevelop the adjacent park area to facilitate NPARKS’s future events and operations.

Weaving the Future of design

The design concept strives to create a cultural identity with reference to the historical heritage of the precinct. Use of cultural elements, such as the Chinese bamboo sieve, which carries the strong cultural identity of the initial Chinese settlement in Singapore. Contemporary interplay of abstract expression of the Chinese bamboo weave forms the basic design vocabulary and language of the facade.
