For a restaurant serving modern Asian cuisine, the main design concept emphasizes on moving away from traditional Asian design. However, hints of the Asian culture are still evident in the finishes, accessories and design elements. The general design is based on shabby industrial-chic concept, using a material palette of raw wood, concrete, steel mesh and corrugated zinc to create an eclectic and warm ambiance.
Culture in Architecture
Colourful furniture of Asian influence are peppered around the restaurant to create visual interest. Borrowing the idea of tea being integral to Asian culture, teapots especially sourced by the owner is used to decorate the display shelves.
