The design approach focuses on creating a club that represent youth, vibrancy, energy, and enjoyment. The design language is contemporary and trendy in order to attract more young people to join the club. A tastefully balance mix of texture and colour is incorporated into the design to create a vibrant and contemporary environment.

Adapting to Nature

The inception of contemporary spaces is vital to the rejuvenation of the SAFYC Club House. The creation of impactful improvements in the architecture and planning of the existing environment provides the opportunity to draw more patrons and improve motivation for yacht/boat owners and aspiring sailors. The enhancement of the entire facility boosts its branding as a premier sailor training grounds and sea-sports club.

The proposal adheres to anatomy of boat sails through the implementation of tensile structures. The dramatic forms are derived from the fluid and carefree movement of sails as they adapt to natural forces such as winds, tides and currents. The streamlined curvilinear forms of the new structures depict the buoyant movements of sails and the sturdiness of the masts. The fabric moulds create an iconic landmark that can be naturally associated with the SAFYC.
